In the last century, while Jerusalem was under Jordanian rule Christians were subjected to restrictions to visit their holiest sites, laws were passed to stop new Christian schools from being opened and required Christian schools teach the Koran. Christian charities were not allowed to purchase land, and the Armenian Patriarch-elect was deported from Jordan. Hundreds of Jewish gravestones were used to pave a highway and used as bathrooms by the Jordanian military. Only after 1967 when Israel liberated East Jerusalem were these discriminatory laws abolished restoring religious freedom to Christians and Jews.

Thanks for that Lauren. It's always good to learn new things and I must admit this is a subject I am very ignorant on.
Gypsy, the truth is really scary and what's scarier is why aren't most people told about this. I almost always find myself in the position, when face to face, of being walked away from when confronted with this subject, when i start to tell the facts. It's as if the truth is so offensive I must be lying...as they never heard this before. And there is almost always a complete refusal to listen. Baffles my mind. So thanks for listening.
