It's Been A Wild Year and Wild End to My Year

For those of you who follow me on twitter, you know I had been very sick since December 24th. Thank you to every single one of you who tweeted with me throughout, asked me how I was, sent me prayers and well wishes. Each one of you are terrific, helped me feel supported and cared for and kept me company while I had to be at the ER this week.

I'm finally feeling human. It took many days and a clear diagnosis of an infection and antibiotics and tons of Reiki from some wonderful healers and I'm feeling better. Thank you so much.

I suppose I just needed to cleanse the toxicity out of my system to be more in balance for the New Year.

I've had one of the best years of my life, even with some of the many dramas that played out. I met some interesting new friends and had some wonderful trips. Congress was kicked on their asses this last election and some partial balance will have a chance to be restored blocking the Obamination for president we have.

I'm sure I'll be called a RINO soon by many but let me be clear: since I'm not a Republican it really can't stick. HAHAHAHA!

You can't box me in.

I want to wish everyone a SAFE, happy and healthy New Year. May 2011 rock our world in only good and peaceful ways.

I'm terribly excited for this year to begin. It's my year to allow new love in. I'm open to it and I'm ready for fun and love. Wishing you all the same.

What I Like To Call: What IS She Doing Now?

I haven't written a personal post in a while so I figured it was time to annoy you, catch you up.
Obviously one of my strongest passions is politics and more to the point, political subjects dealing with Israel, character of people and politicians. However, dating has always been a theme here but it certainly has taken a very back seat since I learned about the threat of Obama before people would even admit he was a threat.

It's hard to write on a topic you know so much and so little about. Dating! I mean really who has more experience with this topic than a woman who has never settled down. But then again, a woman who has never settled down at some point has to admit that she doesn't know jack about dating properly. Kind of an oxymoron.

But there's something to be said for the woman who has made all the mistakes. She (ME) can smell bullshit from a mile away. I know all the damn tricks and lies of men. And I'm just not interested in their bullshit game anymore.  Now don't go taking that the wrong way. I haven't switched sides. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

But I've had enough first dates to know that I'm not the dating type of gal. There was a time early on in my 20's I'd hear a lot of "you're high maintenance" and this was supposed to be a bad thing. And that insecure little girl bought into it. Worst mistake I ever made. And it was a long-term mistake. What I should have done was cut and run when I heard that. Because it's the first clue that the person with the penis sitting with you is a little boy and not a man and nowhere near it and a waste of time.

After years of being shit upon, I got a hard shell about me in dating. I was way more rough with the jerks I met. I started to tell them to their face. Sort of a payback. I have no regrets about this. Each one deserved it and many I didn't do it to deserved it as well. Somewhere there will be a woman who tells them off properly though so so worries.

So after years of trying online dating with practically no success. Finding the strangest of men there, with the idea that they were going to be 45+ years but refuse to go out with women their own age I decided screw them, screw dating and I'll just enjoy my life.

I set very clear personal goals for myself for a years period of time and I'm half way through that time period. It's all coming together nicely. One of those goals was to be much more social and spend time with good friends, fun people and just enjoy the activities and maybe even learn some things about what I like to do that I didn't know I liked to do before.

I've discovered a love of walking and pilates. And while I HATE the typical gym, these things I absolutely will do and continue to do. I'm seeing my body change in ways I never thought possible and I'm really proud of myself for it too!

I've socialized with people who like these activities as well and found that they are terrific fun and we have a great time together.

I found nerds novice gamers to play games with and girlfriends to go dancing with as well.

It's quite liberating to not have the added pressure of wondering "does he like me" playing in my head. You see, I don't care. I'm not there for that.

I'm having the time of my life and meeting really nice people in the process. Both men and women.

And recently I've been involving myself where I should not be, helping a girl friend of mine understand men better.  She's older than I am and it baffles me to see her not realize that she's being played and have such low self esteem when it comes to men. But over time she has seen that I've been 100% correct about each one's intent and now she actually asks me for advice. So for Christmas I bought her Steve Harvey's book Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man. I am a sucker and even bought myself a copy.

I devoured the book. Now a lot of what he says in the book I already know. Why? Because I made all the damn mistakes. Haven't you been reading my post!? But even more so, I've been taking the time to look back and understand me, men, their actions, mine and where the breakdown has been. Sadly many women don't do this. They just keep doing the same thing over and over again but expect different results.

For example I know that if a man says I'll call you it means, forget you ever met him! My friend thinks the call is coming.  She believes if a guys that she just met says to her after asking for her number, "Oh I can't call you tomorrow because I have to spend time with my family," that it actually means this. She doesn't understand guy speak.  Steve Harvey's book is all about the guy speak.  He tells it pretty much like it is, how men think.  And he also tells women to get standards, communicate those standards early on and clearly and stick with them and be willing to completely walk away if the man you are sitting with refuses to meet them. Plain and simple.

Later on in the week I'll write more about this book and his second one I'm currently reading.

And unless you're a troll please leave me comments HERE at the blog. Commenting on twitter about my posts here is kind of lame!

Candlelight - The Maccabeats - Hanukkah

Where were the cute boys like this when I was their age?!

My 2 Minutes of Fame

Last week while driving and listening to WABC radio I heard what I couldn't believe I heard coming from the radio. Joe Crummey was the host and the topic was about Christmas decorations in public places being taken down. Now I'm not a Christian but I have a lot of Christian friends and I understand why this bothers them. Personally I don't think they should be up or that Chanukah Menorahs should be up on public property at all. I like the generic lights, the spirit of the season and that's my opinion. But I certainly don't begrudge Christmas decorations out somewhere.

I happened to turn on the radio during the listener call in time and to my horror two separate callers within a short span of time made their way on the air. One went on to blame the lawsuits for the decorations being removed on the Joooss. Another ranted on and started to talk about how the Jooos just love their money and that the Holocaust Museum in DC takes money on the weekdays but on the weekends they only take credit because Jooooos aren't allowed to handle money but you now how they love their money. You can listen here. It's about 1h 30 ish minutes in.

After both calls went completely unchallenged in any way I had to turn off the radio. I was so enraged if I continued to listen I might have gotten into an accident. Since that would not have been good, and since I have and wish to keep my perfect record the radio went off.

When I arrived back home I made some calls. First to the programming department at WABC radio. Then to the Holocaust Museum.

Needless to say I received a swift call back from the show's producer and then Joe Crummey himself.  The producer was in complete agreement with me. You could hear in her voice, that egg on your face feeling. She said this was something that needed to be corrected immediately. She asked if it would be ok if Mr. Crummey spoke with me directly and apologized and of course I said yes.

My conversation with Mr. Crummey was a good one. He apologized and I explained to him why it was so upsetting, the lack of the challenge to the callers, and that I felt it was necessary to talk about this on the show the following day and correct this. He completely agreed. And you can hear it here.  It is the very first thing he talks about and the way he handled it was excellent. Kudos to his PR team ;)

While I am all about crushing those that do wrong, I'm equally about praising good behavior and acts. So Joe Crummey thank you for manning up.

Mockery In Chief

Just around 10:56 in you will see Obama say, "I've been keeping the first lady waiting..." as he hands off the Presidential duties to Clinton.

What a complete mockery of the position of the President of the United States of America.

Equally Hated

To those I know who are conservative they are going to be pissed at me. And the same goes for those on the left. Because the clear fact is that I probably ride right down the middle.

My conservative friends, whom I really do love and understand I find very very misguided about social issues like medicaid and foodstamps and unemployment. They fall into the trap of the pundits that say that people are too lazy or that it stops people from working. It's a big lie.  Now I'm not calling them liars. I'm saying the line is a lie. Because it is.

Most Americans are hard-working people. Those getting unemployment are getting it because they WERE employed. These are not lazy people. These are people who were working and lost their work.

Both the democrats and republicans are playing sick politics with the poorest of people for their own special interests.  And it sucks.

Those programs while costly aren't even costing close to what the energy dept.'s budget costs every American. And let's now add in all those insane pork projects and earmarked agendas hidden in other bills. And even if they weren't hidden they'd be bullshit pork that's costing us to have to borrow money from China.

It ISN'T the programs for the poorest of our fellow citizens that are costing each of us the taxes we have to pay.  And quite frankly when you start becoming the mouth piece that spreads this kind of thinking for our politicians you just look stupid, as well as heartless.

Now, not ONE politician has created a job for all those people on unemployment for the last 99 weeks. I don't care what side of the aisle your sitting on or rooting for. And people need to eat.

I saw one tweeter say if you can't find a job after 99 weeks move. Sounds good if you don't THINK!
With official unemployment being almost 10% where are these people to move. It's hard everywhere and the government isn't creating the parameters for businesses to hire enough people to lower that number.  And the government is all too happy to have us infighting, calling people lazy or heartless so that we don't get on them for their wasteful programs and spending that only serves to line their own pockets and buys them their fancy homes that cost way more than the average person would be willing to work for in a year, rather than be on the unemployment insurance.

Another tweeter was angry to learn that a friend of his was offering jobs but was told the applicants were making more on unemployment. Well, then that should tell the employer that he isn't offering a living wage because even at the top rate in most states it's not very much money to live on. Before you get angry with me, conservative reader that you are, you just think about this for a second. You mean to tell me you are going to scream bloody murder for a man who will take the unemployment over the lower wage and work, so that he can continue to feed his kids. You mean to tell me that you think he should work 40 hours a week for less money knowing that he will not be able to cover his rent and put food on the table for his children? And then if he does take that job rather than the insurance and goes to the local foodstamp office to apply for help you will be angry with him for that.

It's really unrealistic, heartless and stupid what you are asking of people and labeling them to be for it.

What these people fail to realize are the stories I hear from others on twitter, yes on the conservative side of that fence btw, of people who have exhausted their savings, sold cars, pulled kids out of college, sold their houses and are living bear bones.

So really enough already. Let's get real.

The real changes that need to be made are the bills in congress for pork spending and for departments that are wasteful and have shown to produce nothing helpful like the energy department.

I Must Be In a Bad Acid Trip Somewhere in the Looking Glass

The world has gone mad. I never thought as a little girl growing up in the 1970's-80's that I'd live in a sick mad world where all that I was taught and all that my generation seemed to stand for would be so easily turned on their head. I'm mortified.

A blogger on twitter @lisagraas has written about and pointed me to this very sick writer Jeffrey Goldberg here. Goldberg publicly writes that we should not support Israel and the people who have lost everything including 41 human lives in the deadliest forest fire Israel has ever seen, because Israel's government should have been better prepared and that Israel is rich.

Now I'm going to take his article verbatim and post it below and change a few words for you and let's see if it's still acceptable to publish. Ready?

"Inevitably, the United Way, which, among other things, has been generating and uniting community resources to impact people's lives by addressing critical health and human service needs, is asking for donations from Americans for its "Katrina campaign," in response to the massive hurricane and flood in New Orleans. But I'm not giving.

The United States per capita GDP is nearly $46,436. Louisian's GDP per capita is 35,507. The United States is a rich country and Louisiana is a rich state. The fact that it doesn't possess adequate hurricane equipment is its own fault. The fact that the leadership of its FEMA is incompetent is its own fault.  At some point, the bleeding heart Americans who still think of Katrina survivors as a charity case are going to have to tell their cousins to learn to fully-fund basic services like  if they want to be thought of as citizens of an advanced country.

There are a great many good causes in New Orleans that deserve help, and a great many causes here in America that deserve our help. It seems to me, however, that New Orleans  officials should be funded by New Orleans government, not by the people of Boca Raton, Potomac and the Upper West Side.

My sympathy is with the people who lost their lives, their families, and those still in danger. It is not with a government that appears to be negligent. And I'm not going to contribute funds that might serve to paper-over the government's inadequacies."

Angry yet?
Go ahead Mr. Goldberg come attack the little old single girl blogger that I am. Come at me with your relativism argument. I dare you!

Jews That Do a Disservice to Our Community *warning profanity

I hate to say it but there are some mornic idiotic Jews that would rather fight another Jew over a miniscule point in a word than fight the people who are having us re-live the 1930's of Europe all over again.

I'm going to out one big dumb moronic waste of space on twitter: RabbiYonah  <------ Yeah some Rabbi! No congregation and wears hippy shit on his page.

If you haven't already heard, the Jewish students of the University of Indiana have been targeted by assaults. Yes, assaults. They have had their Hillel windows smashed with rocks and the library has had Jewish texts stolen and when found where were they? The books were found in the bathroom with urine on them.

I found out about this story here. Please read the full story and watch the local news report of this.

Spare me the bullshit that I am wrong on this, because I am not. THIS IS KRISTALNACT in our time.
Is the government sponsoring this? Doubtful. But the act IS the same.

The rise in antisemetic acts completely corresponds to the rise in huge immigration of Islamic followers into our country. And no one is saying a word.

Why am I sure it's THEM?! Easy, just read about what those scum of the earth excuses for humans did to  the gravestones of Jews in East Jerusalem in 1948 when they ILLEGALLY took over the city and barred Jews from admittance. If that is not enough proof for you, then just think back a few years when THOSE SCUM took over the Catholic Church in Bethlehem and barred themselves in. Do you remember what they did?

So fake Rabbi, it is because of the jerk offs like yourself that refused to listen to me 15 years ago when I was in college, asking Hillel to speak out against this kind of stuff happening on my college campus that the Jewish kids at Indiana University and all over the U.S. are being subjected to much worse. You all told me to be quiet, don't worry, it will go away, don't call attention to it. YOU STUPID STUPID FUCKING MORONIC ASSHOLES!
