Astrology 101- Part 3, Your Sun Sign

In the previous two blog posts you learned that each sign in the zodiac is made up of an element, modality and polarity.

There are 12 signs in the zodiac. They are:

Aries
Taurus
Gemini
Cancer
Leo
Virgo
Libra
Scorpio
Sagittarius
Capricorn
Aquarius
Pisces

Your astrological sign, also known as your Sun sign, at the core will exhibit certain traits.

Aries
If you are born under the zodiac sign of Aries you are probably known for butting heads, charging forward, initializing, being impulsive, making things happen, being action oriented, being competitive, not being persistant. Your nature is to get something started.

Most people that meet you will feel that you exhibit an attitude of "It's all about me and I don't care what or who is around me. I want it now."

Aries is the infant of the zodiac signs and in keeping with that those who fall under this sign often act like a baby to get their needs met.

Taurus

If you are born under the zodiac sign of Taurus you are probably known for being STUBBORN (My mother is a Taurus and I have had multiple boyfriends who were Taurus' and I can tell you this is absolutely true. NEVER ASK A TAURUS FOR SHIT!) Your mind is made up. You don't want to be confused with facts however, once moved you will crush anyone in your path if they are in your way. You are sense oriented, sensual people and possession oriented. It's not about money but what money can buy you. Most Taurus' are conservative in taste and style. And once you have made up your mind that is it! You are the most self-oriented people in the zodiac.
**(If you find yourself attracted to Taurus' like I have been, it is probably because they are enormously passionate people. However, those of us who are not born into such a fixed sign forget that that passion will NOT translate over to our passions. If you choose to be with a Taurus you will probably have to resign yourself to only doing things with this person that they have decided they love and be left in the dust for anything that falls outside of those things. No amount of articles (research) or pleading will get your lover or friend to come on board with you and you will probably get the opposite of the desired result. They will not fall in love with the passion in you. Instead they will be angered by it and feel pushed.)

Gemini

If you are born under the zodiac sign of Gemini you are known for having a thirst for learning, you are mesmorized about the environment around you (not environmentalism), having issues of learning with your siblings but not your parents. You want to know EVERYTHING. You are the most communicative of all the signs. Your entire life you will learn with all your issues and lessons that there are always others around you and you are constantly comparing things. You do not see life as right or wrong. If you find resistance to something you will seek to figure out a way to get around that resistance. Some would say you are superb at side-stepping rather that going in head on. You are not concerned with learning about the world at large so much as what is directly around you, your city, your friends, what they study etc...

Cancer

If you are born under the zodiac sign of Cancer your personality is more submerged and hidden, as in the shell of a crab. When you are confronted you will protect yourself by going into that shell. With most cancerians everything is about emotion, "I feel good or I don't feel good." Your life lessons are all about safety, security, your immediate home environment, shelter and nurturance. You are known for being nuturers, caregivers and will often put your own needs aside for those in your home and people close to you.

Leo

If you are born under the zodiac sign of Leo you have the personality of the only child. You may not be an only child but you exhibit the personality of one. You display the "I am here" mentality. It's all about you! Leos are regal, royal, warm, creative but need to be the center of the univerise. Everyone must listen to you.

Virgo

If you are born into the zodiac sign of Virgo you are often unsure how to act inside this world. You have a deep need to find out the rules and follow them closely. You do not like to be the center of the universe. You are meticulous, cautious and detail oriented and you expect this from others. If your birthday falls under this sign you probably will find a career that is service oriented as well as concrete. You are excellent craftspeople.

Libra

If your birthday falls under the zodiac sign of Libra you are known for being a starter, for being the person that makes things happen. However, you are all about balance, learning how to create balance and harmony and finding both sides to an issue is important to you. This makes most Libras indecisive.

Scorpio

If your birthday falls under the zodiac sign of Scorpio there is a lot going on under the surface for you. Scorpios tend to be extremely emotional people and feel too much however, they are also very cold and do not show this outwardly. This is done in order to protect themselves. Scorpios look for depth in everything. In doing so they work to limit the depth so that they can achieve their goals. Scorpios tend to shut off and push people away. Scorpios are the most intense people in the zodiac. From the outside people see you as stoic and focused.

Sagittarius

If you are born under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius you are probably always looking to expand your experiences. You inquire into everything and want more substance. Your interests fall under higher education, law, religion or just about anything intellectual. Sagittarians are very much into the idea of rightness and wrongness in the interest of universal truth. They usually make good statesmen. They have a strong thirst for knowledge but unlike Geminis they seek to know about the world at large and how things work on a universal level.

Capricorn

If your birthday falls under the zodiac sign of Capricorn you are known for being ridgid, structured and disciplined. You take rules and go after those rules with enthusiasm. You can handle the uphill climb of just about any situation. Capricorns are sensual, career oriented and practical people. They are always seeking how to get more stuff.

Aquarius

If you are born under the zodiac sign of Aquarius you have a strong intellectual side. You take rules and apply the rules to society. You are ruled by rules. The rules don't have to be conventional, however, once the rules are determined by you that is that! You stick to them and you enforce them and apply them to everyone and everything and there is no budging on them. You will throw the baby out with the bathwater. PERIOD! Aquarians tend to hold the larger worldview as more important than what is going on in their immediate surroundings.

Pisces

If your birthday falls under the zodiac sign of Pisces you will be seen as emotional and full of changes. Your sign is the ending of the zodiac. A well-developed Pisces can be a legitimate martyr but an underdeveloped Pisces plays the victim very well. Pisces blur borders by eliminating them and most understand that they are part of something bigger. Many Pisces are seen as flakey people because they blur the borders so well.
