Is Obama A Racist?

I found this on Did I Miss Something. Please watch and then go visit his blog. Please send this to anyone you think is willing to watch it and listen.

We have a long history in this country of accusing black men of aggressively attacking white women. You may want to look up names like Scottsboro Boys or Emmett Till. Also, many people - rightly or wrongly - believe that Simpson was vilanized for daring to be a black man married to a white woman.

Don't flip, I'm not trying to argue O.J.'s innocence, just creating context. A lot of people feel that Obama was hampered in the way he would be able to criticize Senator Clinton because small but significant portion of the country would be uncomfortable with the image of a black man "attacking" a white woman. This concern - real or imagined - is rooted in a history of painting black men as violently lustful of white women.

I write all that to say this: I think the video you have posted is disgustingly misleading and borderline racist. The dissemination of such ideals is a threat to the integrity of our electoral process and it spits in the face of every good thing this country strives to be.

Equally we have a long history of white people fighting for the rights of blacks as well as women etc...

Don't use such terrible examples if you don't want people to flip. I find his trial outcome racist. He got off simply to right some bullshit injustice of years past agaist blacks. Two innocent people were murdered. PLAIN AND SIMPLE and he did it!

Well you are certainly entitled your opinion. I think we hold very different ideas of what the definition of racist is. You see all that doesn't agree with your agenda as racist -- and your agenda is all about the color of your skin...my definition is of that same word is basing all arguments good or bad based solely on the person's race rather than the merits. So I guess by your definition I and it would be racist.

The dissemination of such ideals is a threat to the integrity of our electoral process and it spits in the face of every good thing this country strives to be.

Actually the dissemination is exactly what we need...TRUTH TELLING. If you find what Obama said offensive then call it what it is ...rather than my showing this man to be what he is racist.

I am offended that those like you want to have one set of rules for one group and another set BASED ON RACE.

Any funny enough I bet you think there is nothing wrong with letting the President of Iran come and speak to the UN this week but find my posting of OBAMA himself offensive. Hypocritical don't you think?

Racism exists on all sides of the fence, and anyone who dissagrees is blind to the world around them. Remember back in the 80's when Jackson was running, and his entire campaign effort was flushed because of his " hymie " remarks, and his reffering to NYC as " hymie town " ? And what exactly does exposing Obama's religion have to do with racism ? Pick a fight my friend. Great post Lauren, hopefully no one will realize how much I really do know about political history : )
