Photo Tour Of Wall Street Area
THIS was the uptown 6 train at Grand Central at 5:45PM Monday night. I had to wait for two more trains before I could even board one. This is insanity. The MTA wants to raise our fare from the already $2 one-way trip, with less service, over crowded trains and no air conditioning. If anyone from the city council comes upon this blog and sees this photo, in the words of Susan Powter will you please STOP THE INSANITY.

I loved all the pictures except the last one. Really incredible architecture, thank you for taking time to let us see New York from your angle!
P.S. I got claustrophobic just looking at the bottom picture, I didn't have to make it larger to feel more uncomfortable.
Great pics of the city! :)
Taking the train in the summer is the worst. smelly, hot, and claustrophobic.
awesome pictures
you really get a sense of the place
its really too bad that no one ever wants to pay for infrastructure until its so late and the problem is so big that it will cost five times as much
Carrie, good to see you here!!! Missing you as always. It was pretty darn hard to ride home last night. I was so wiped out by the time I got home. I found a great new route today. M train. Holy moly, new trains, hardly any riders, quick, good pa system and airconditioning. What a concept.
Jess, taking the train almost anytime is smelly and hot and blechy! But it's also the fastest way most of the time.
Judy, downtown Manhattan is amazing. It's really where NYC is. Everything expanded from that point. It's sad what has happened there on 9/11. And yes, the MTA won't spend a nickel properly. Can you say CORRUPT?
Oh I love the architecture pics!! I feel for ya with the train situation, it just seems crazy.
