Rose's General Store

I had a lovely day in Sea Cliff on Saturday. It's one of those towns that is very artsy and spiritual, politically a bit too left leaning and moonbat-ish for my style and comfort but has amazing architecture, with mostly Victorian-style homes done up in the most interesting colors.

I've been to Sea Cliff many times but never noticed this store until today. Because I really see the symbolism in everything, the name struck me and I felt pulled to go into the store. Rose was my grandmother's name.

It's done up in the old general store style and has an energy which I loved. But the best thing I found was a fellow tweeter who shares my political views and feelings on the current situation, which was such a comfort to both she and I.

Anyway here are some pictures from the town and the store. I hope you enjoy them half as much as I did my time inside.

Cool! Seems like almost everything in our culture has been commercialized ... all Walmarts and the like. Nice to find something that has some character :-)

It's a fun little shop. I especially like the one about the cooking and cleaning concept which I just don't get.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Glad you enjoyed my travels. Sounds like you need a vacation.

How adorable! I love the "Grow a..." products. And the pillows - I should have one for cooking. Lol (wouldn't hurt to have around to put out the flames - kidding)

Love the second one about the almost-perfect husband or wife. Can you imagine how dreadful it would be to marry a 'perfect' person? Almost-perfect is good enough (or bad enough!)

@chris, I loved the box too. I almost bought it. :)

@Mum-me- I never thought about it that way...but incredibly profound. WOWZA!
