Ayn Rand
I never heard of Ayn Rand until I was 37. The educational establishment purposely hid her from me. Reading her book Atlas Shrugged and watching this clip of her I realize just how much I think like Ayn and always have. I never had that one person I could write about that I admired whenever prompted to by some school assignment. Had I known about Ayn Rand then it surely would have been her.

But there's more to what I need now than what meets the eye
And if beauty's only skin deep,
Then your pretty skin wont send me to my highest high
Oh it's been along time come for maturity
And I believe that its truly what it has to be
Cause as much as I admire you

So according to Maya, is Obama officially our second black President, or did she remove that honor from Bill Clinton?
And why do we consider her a great poet? She's no Frost or Dickinson.
By the way, I think I got my authors confused. It was Toni Morrison that called Bill Clinton the first black President. Carry on.
I have mixed reactions to that. I think I'll just put it out of my mind for now. ;)
